Jazz performer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award winner was born on February 20 1937 in Ohio, Chillicothe. She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson and his wife Lillian Ryan who worked as domestic helper. Nancy Wilson was youngest baby of six. Nancy was heavily influenced by her father's taste in music and the records that were played in her house. At the age of 4years old, Nancy was aware her destiny was to be a performer. The talent she had developed was discovered through singing in the church choir. Following her win in a talent show in a television show when she was 15, she began to regularly appear in Skyline Melodies, while still at high school. In the same year, she began working at nightclubs. Nancy at the age of 17, completed high school and was enrolled in Ohio Central State College (now Central State University) for a year before quitting to pursue a career as a musician. She recorded her first record with Rusty's Carolyn Club Big Band in 1956. The group toured from 1956 to 1958. Nancy made her debut record with Dot Records while in the group. Cannonball Aderley suggested that she make the move in New York so as to enhance her career. In 1959 she moved into The Big Town. After a few weeks the manager of Adderley heard her singing and hired her. In 1960, he signed her to Capitol Records and in that the same year, she debuted her debut single. Guess who I saw today. Her records were successful and Capitol released 5 Nancy Wilson albums in two years. The first was focused on R&B, but under Adderley's influence, she began to embrace jazz. Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley's collaboration in the year 1962 helped make her a star and her hit Tell Me the Truth was recorded in 1963. In the following year, she was asked to perform at New York's Coconut Grove, the most prestigious night club in America.

She acted as Chloe Winthrop in Netflix's original film The Kissing Booth Season 2 and 3.
