Nancy Wilson, a jazz performer and a three-time Grammy Award winner was born in Ohio, Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. She was married to Olden Wilson, an ironworker. was employed for a lengthy time as a housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six kids. The music passion of her father and his collection of records at home had a major influence on Nancy at the age of a girl. She was commissioned to perform in The Blue Morocco Night Club located in The Bronx which was where her agent had seen her. Agent Adderley signed her to Capitol in 1960. She made her debut that year. At first, she focused on blues and rhythm under the influence of Adderley, she shifted away from R&B and embraced the torch and jazz genres. Their collaboration in 1962 with Nancy Wilson and Cannonball Adderley was instrumental in propelling her to the top and her breakthrough hit Tell Me the Truth in 1963. The song led to a performance in New York's Coconut Grove the premier night club in America in the year following and she quickly became a legend.
