The jazz singer Nancy Wilson a three-time Grammy Award-winner was born on February 20, 1937, in Ohio, Chillicothe. She was the daughter of iron worker Olden Wilson and the former Lillian Ryan who worked as a housekeeper. Nancy was the youngest of six children. Nancy was influenced by her father's taste in music and records played in the family home. In her early years she had already developed the impression of her identity and what she wanted to do. Capitol issued 5 Nancy Wilson albums in two years. In the era of Adderley, Wilson began concentrating on R&B and then shifted her focus to jazz and torch music.
